Rocks –Crystals And Fossile Exhibition
Department of Physics Organized Exhibition of Rocks and Mineral on 10/12/2022. More than 20 items were displayed. Students, school teachers visited the exhibition. The students of B.Sc.-III and M.Sc. Served as an instructor, explaining the process of formation of rocks, crystals, Gems in nature. The Feature of the exhibition was the Tektites.

Solar Eclipse
Solar eclipse is a celestial event which occurs when the Sun, the Moon and the Earth align linearly. The celestial bodies either line up in a straight line or in a somewhat straight line. To observe progress of Solar eclipse Solar filters were used. The department, through social media, made aware about this natural event and facilitate to observe the solar eclipse.

workshop on “ Fiber Optics: Installation Coupling And Application”
As India is looking for connecting villages through Broadband Services under Digital India Mission, there are opportunities for skilled human resource either to work with or be an entrepreneur in this emerging area. As fiber optics is part of curriculum, the department has organized one day workshop on “FIBER-OPTICS: INSTALLATION, COUPLING AND APPLICATIONS” and hand on training. Workshop was organized for B.Sc. II year students and the contents covered basic of fiber optics, its coupling and job opportunities in optical fiber communication in various company like JIO, Airtel Reliance etc.

SKY WATCHING PROGRAM “Jupiter is closed to earth in 59 years”
There is always curiosity about the celestial events occurring from time to time. The department of physics is looking for such opportunities and facilitates to observe such events. Jupiter is the fifth planet from our Sun. The gas giant is known for its Great Red Spot (actually a storm) and its massive size—twice as big as all the other Solar System planets combined. On September 26, 2022, the planet—moving along its orbit—arrived at its closest position to Earth in 59 years. On 30 September 2022 the Jupiter was close to earth and the weather was also favorable to deploy telescope to observe Jupiter and Moon.

E –Waste Collection Drive” Date (12-18 August 2022 )
An E-Waste collection drive was organized by Department of physics from 12 August 2022 To 18 August 2022 in the G S Gawande college Campus to inform the students and community about the impact of the E-waste and its effect on humans and the environment. Students and the staff contributed to the drive. Students contributed a variety of e-waste such as electronics parts of Television, setoff Box, radio, printers, mobiles, chargers, pencil cell, batteries etc. This initiative to recycle/ reused E-waste like electric component for construction/ repairing of power supply and Practical circuit in physics Laboratory. The drive concluded with the E-waste Awareness Programme which was organized for the Student
