Year of Establishment
The Department of Political Science has been established in 1996. Prof. G. D. Rathod has given service from the beginning to his retirement. After his retirement in 2000 four years later again in 2004 on 1st Sept Mr. V. S. Ingle has been appointed. Since Mr.V. S. Ingle is continuously teaching through this department. He takes active part in various programs organized in the college. He has organized a workshop on the subject how to stop suicides of the farmers on dated 17/01/2008 & 09/09/2008. Every year the political science study club is established. Through this club various programs of political & social awareness has been organized. Guidance for competitive exam is given through discussion. Different programs are organized for the improvement. Seminar, Guest lecture are organized for the students. Active participation in different programs in national and international level seminar and workshops. He is working in the internal exam department of the college. He is samantrak in Y.C.M.O.University. He has awarded Ph.D. by S. G. B. Amaravati Universty Amaravati on 5 Nov 2009.
Research Title of Thesis:- “A Critical Study of Defectional Politics in Maharastra”( 1960 to 2004).
* He has successfully organized a national conference on dated 26th & 27th Nov 2010. In this conference 216 candidates participated. Inauguratedby Mr. C. L. Thul (Ex President of Human Right Commission in Maharashtra state, Chief guest in this conference Adv. Shivajirao Moghe (Social Welfare Minister, M.S.), Mr. Vijayrao Khadse (M.L.A. Umarkhed Constituency), Adv. Anantraoji Deosarkar (President Y.J.A.K.S. & Ex. M.L.A. Umarkhed Constituency), Dr. Yadavraoji Raut (Secretary Y.J.A.K.S.)
* On 25th Sep 2019 national conference was organized by the Dept of Humanities (Dept. Pol.Sci.) in G. S. G. College, Umarkhed on ‘Emerging and innovative trends in higher education’. Main purpose of conference was to teach the modern trends and advance thoughts towards students. The inaugurator and chief guest of program was vice-chancellor Dr. Murlidhar Chandekar S.G.B.A.U. Amravati. The chief guest of program was Dr. Mrunali Fadnvis from P.A.H.S.U. Solapur. Key notes speaker of conference was Dr. Rajan Velukar, the former vice-chancellor of Mumbai University, Mumbai. Key notes speaker of inaugurative program was economist Dr. Shrinivas Khandewale, educationalist Dr. Vivek Korde, The chairperson of conference was Hon’ble Mr. Ramsaheb Deosarkar the president of institution Y.Z.A.K.S. the chief guest Dr. Y. M. Raut secretary of institution Y.Z.A.K.S. organizer Prin. Dr. M.N. Gaikwad, coordinator of conference Dr. K. B. Shirse, organizing secretary Dr. V. S. Ingle HOD Pol.Sci, Prof. A. S. Joshi, Dr. V. R. Jiwatode, Dr. U. N. Patil, Dr. K. D. Bompilwar, and Prof. S. S. Pachkudkeewre presented. In the conference published UGC Approved Peer Reviewed E-Research Journal that is “Research Journey” ISSN 2348-7143 with impact factor 6.261 .
*An Interdisciplinary International Conference was organized at Gopikabai Sitaram Gawande College Umarkhed on Invironment: Issues, Challenges, Impact and Steps Towards Sustainable Development on 24 September 2022 in Collaboration with Gopikabai Sitaram Gawande College Umarkhed and IQAC Sant Gadgebaba Amravati University Amravati.
