The department of Chemistry is always initiate number of student centric activities leading to skill and leadership development among the student. One of them is Do your Self Activity. The Students are involved to design and demonstrate basic science experiment for school student. School student also encouraged to perform the experiment at their own and ask question if any.
Department of Chemistry run this community centric activity for
• To provide an accurate assessment of the soilfertility to make fertilizer recommendation.
• To increase the awareness of fertilizer effects on environment.
• To determine where fertilizers or manure is applied for soil to increase the yield.
• Soil analysis is used to determine the level of nutrients found in a soil sample.
• Soil testing is helpful for farmers to increase the crop yield.
• This practice developed awareness about the soil quality which is use full for the good health of the crop.
The Farmers from nearby area of the Umarkhed and our students collect the soil sample and submit to the department for analysis. The students of M.Sc. Chemistry and students of B.Sc. Chemistry carryout the analysis of submitted soil samples under the supervision of our faculties. After analysis ,a report of analysis is prepared and handover to farmers with recommendations.
The department constantly motivates students in promoting their skills in participating in intra and inter department activities on the concept of green chemistry, wealth out of waste, quiz events science and on education, awareness on social issues.
The department conducted invited talks and lectures through well established resource students to clear competitive examinations like SET/NET/GATE examinations.
Department of Chemistry run a departmental library for the M.Sc. and B.Sc. Students.
The departmental library has 106 references books. The students get benefits of this library in their off lecture time.
Industrial Tour
Industrial visits are arranged by department every year for the students with an objective of providing students functional opportunity in different sectors. Industrial visit helps to combine theoretical knowledge with industrial knowledge.
Industrial visits are usually the first point of interaction between a student and a live working industry. The students learn about the latest technology trend and make up their minds about their future job or area of interest.
Provides an insight into the real working environment of the industry. Helps them to see their future place in the working world. Develop the leadership, communication and socialization quality of the students. Establish a good relationship between the industry and academia.
